Showing and Telling



Telling:
She was angry.
He was depressed.
They were sad.
He was embarassed.
They were afraid.

Showing:
Her fists were clenched and her eyes burned with an inner furnace.
He looked as though he had been ran over, and his eyes lacked sparkle.
They both tried to hold back tears.
He looked sheepishly at them, his cheeks bright red.
They shivered, their eyes wide and their skin pale.
